This page contains a collection of links to various services which may be of use to Dutch people overseas, or to English people with relations in The Netherlands. Initially limited to translators and interpreters, this page is now open to all who provide a service, while the adjacent Shops page lists all who provide goods. Apart from the list of Translators and Interpreters there is also a gentleman who spotted the need for a more personalised service in flower arrangements, especially for weddings and funerals, but also for ‘just sending some flowers’. Martien Dresselhuys of Flower service ‘Uw Oase’ in Zaltbommel has partnered with several like-minded florists to provide at first a ‘grave maintenance service’ - they will look after the flowers and keep an eye on the general condition of the family monument while you’re away or unable to visit yourself - perhaps because of a temporary immobility. The funeral bouquet service is on-line, allowing to specify themes such as hobbies or sports, and a colour scheme on the website; the response is a listing of available flowers and the current price range. This is the first service which we are aware of, and we would like to wish Martien Dresselhuys all the success this special initiative deserves. www.uwoase.nl updated 21 dec 08.
