Billion has fewer noughts in some languages than others - 9 (am.,fl.,fr.) vs 12 (du.,en.)

Generally: look out for verbs ending in -d, -t, or -dt; and the ‘composite -en-’ which replaces ‘-e-’ after the latest spelling revision (as in pannenkoek vs. pannekoek. 

Honours are more openly acknowledged in the UK than in the Netherlands, where the equivalent would be the ‘Koninklijke Onderscheiding’ of which there are two: ‘Orde van Oranje-Nassau’ and ‘Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw’. Bird names and pictures:  rspb.org.uk/birds/guide and birdsofbritain.co.uk/bird-guide  allow you to show a picture and some particulars, thus enabling your Dutch friends to come up with their version of the bird’s name. (hint: if all else fails, copy the bird’s latin name and search or zoek ... )
